JEWELLERY TALES...WITH
LIZ EARLE
Bestselling author and founder of Liz Earle Wellbeing, Liz Earle talks us through her relationship with jewellery as she styles her favourite Annoushka pieces.
Describe your jewellery style
Classic with a natural, modern twist.

Do you have a jewellery mantra?
Wear things you love and that make you smile.

Tell us about your relationship with jewellery.
I’ve always loved vintage-inspired pieces and I used to go to auction houses to buy antique Victorian and Edwardian jewellery to re-model into more modern, wearable pieces. I’ve turned several old-fashioned broaches into earrings and rings – I love upscale up-cycling!

Which piece/pieces of jewellery will you be passing down to your daughters?
I’ll be passing down pieces that have important sentimental value as well as being amongst my favourites. I gave a very beautiful Edwardian diamond ring that I absolutely love to my eldest daughter Lily on her 21st birthday, and a diamond cross on her confirmation. I’ll pass down a pink sapphire ring to her sister which was given to me by her father when she was born. I just love jewellery with history that invokes special memories every time you glance at it.
What is your favourite Annoushka piece/pieces?
The Eclipse rose gold and brown diamond hoop earrings. A truly pretty, modern classic. I especially love wearing rose gold next to my face as it reflects such warmth.

How & when did you discover Annoushka? What do you love about the brand?
I first met Annoushka through family friends when she was starting Links of London. As a fellow British brand-founder, I’ve watched her blossoming brands with special interest. I especially love her passion for heritage designs, such as the more recent Russian-inspired Imperial and Touch Wood collections, so original and truly stunning. I don’t think you can beat the authenticity that a genuine brand founder brings to their creations.

How does your busy life affect the way you wear your jewellery?
My most favourite pieces are multi-taskers. I love earrings that can be changed from day to evening with the switch of a dramatic droplet, or fine chains that can be layered or added to for night time glamour. I tend to wear classic pieces that can be added to in the evening as needed.

What inspires you?
The natural world. Whether I’m cooking with home produce, looking for botanical ingredients for seasonal recipes or sourcing herbal remedies for wellbeing, it all comes back to the incredible bounty of nature and living more in harmony with it. I think this is one reason why I love so many of Annoushka’s flora and fauna designs (especially the beautiful beetles!).
What is precious to you?
My children – I’m actually embarrass them by calling them “my precious”.

What are your plans for the year ahead?
On a personal note, having recently travelled through Sardinia and Greece for a mini-series for This Morning on Blue Zones and the secrets to living long and well, I’ll be putting some of what I learnt into practice. Choosing goat’s milk and cheeses, raw honey and herbs included.

On a professional note, the next step for Liz Earle Wellbeing, my digital and print magazine, now published by Hearst, is to go global!
